안녕하세요.
귀한 자녀를 남부뉴저지통합한국학교에 보내주셔서 감사합니다. 우리 학교에서는 한인청소년들에게 뿌리교육을 통하여 코리안아메리칸으로서의 정체성을 심어주고 있습니다. 한국어, 한국역사 뿐 아니라 한국문화와 전통예술교육을 통해 학생들에게 자부심을 갖게 하고 있습니다.
통합 14주년을 맞이하여 2023~2024학년도 프로그램을 개편합니다.
우리학교는 재미한국학교 협의회가 주최하는 각종 한국어 말하기 및 글쓰기 전국대회에서 큰 상을 받아 양질의 한국어 교육기관으로 입증된 학교입니다. 2014년에 무용단을, 2016년에 모듬북단을 창단하여 여느 대한민국의 예술학교 못지않은 실력을 갖추고 커뮤니티 내에서 공연 봉사활동을 하면서 한국어 뿐 아니라 한국문화부문에서도 두각을 나타내고 있습니다. 수년간 한국전통문화예술단을 운영해온 노하우로, 신학기 부터는 1학년부터 6학년 대상의 특화반(가야금 병창, 합창, 미술특화, 한국무용, 전통타악)을 필수과정으로 확장합니다. 7학년부터 11학년까지는 선택과목으로 원하는 학생들은 신청할 수 있습니다.
한국어 수업 또한 중급이상의 학생에게는 모듈수업으로 전환합니다. 읽기, 쓰기, 말하기/듣기 영역을 구분하여 담당 교사가 좀 더 집중적으로 각 학생의 레벨에 맞추어 진행하는 방식으로 수업할 예정이며, 여름방학 동안 상세 계획을 완성하여 9월 신학기부터는 학생들의 영역별 상세 수준까지 케어하는 특별한 프로그램으로 학생들을 맞이하겠습니다.
이와 관련하여 4월 한 달 동안 매주 토요일마다 11:00~12:30까지 111호 교실에서 새로 신설되는 필수 특화반 오리엔테이션을 진행합니다. 필수 참석 대상 학부모는 현재 유치원부터 5학년 학생의 부모님이고, PK, 6~11학부모님도 환영합니다. 일대일 상담을 원하시면 201-753-8563(정안젤라 교감)으로 미리 예약하시고 9:30~11:00 중에 정해진 시간에 상담해 드립니다.

Dear Parents,
Thank you for sending your precious children to Korean School of Southern New Jersey ("KSSNJ"). At our school, we instill Korean-American identity in Korean youth group through our own core curriculum. We teach them Korean language, Korean history, and Korean traditional cultural arts, which gives them a sense of pride.
To celebrate our 14th anniversary, we are revamping the program for the 2023-2024 school year.
Our school has been recognized as a high-quality Korean language educational institution by winning major awards at various Korean speaking and writing national competitions sponsored by the NAKS (National Association for Korean Schools). We have also established KSSNJ K-Dance Company in 2014 and KSSNJ K-Percussion Company in 2016, showcasing our artistic skills and contributing to the community through performing volunteer work. We have been running KSSNJ K-Arts Company for several years, and starting from this semester, we will expand to offer specialized classes for students from 1st to 6th grade (Gayageum Byungchang, Choir, Art, Korean dance, Korean traditional percussion) as mandatory courses. Students from 7th to 11th grade can choose these classes as electives.
For Korean language classes, we will switch to a modular system for intermediate-level and higher students. The teacher will focus more on each student's level by dividing the classes into reading, writing, and speaking/listening sections. We will finalize the detailed plans during the summer break and will greet our students with this special program from the September semester.
In this regard, we will hold a mandatory orientation in classroom 111 every Saturday in April from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The parents of kindergarten to 5th grade students are required to attend, and PK and 6th to 11th grade parents are also welcome. If you wish to have a one-on-one consultation, please make a reservation at 201-753-8563 (Angela Jung, Vice Principal), and we will arrange a consultation during the designated time between 9:30 am and 11:00 am.
