남부뉴저지통합한국학교, 중요한 시기에 큰 후원금 기부로 교육혁신 가속화
9월을 맞이하여 신학년도 개강을 한 남부뉴저지통합한국학교(교장 김정숙)는 지난 5월 MOU협약을 체결한 UNIKA INC. (법인장 신종민)로부터 교육혁신을 위한 대규모 후원금을 기부받았다. 한국 조선업계 회사인 (주)UNI:ON (대표 박진규)의 미국 법인인 UNIKA INC.는 Philly Shipyard에서 건조 중인 National Security Multi-Mission Vessels 프로젝트에 참여하며 성공적인 한인기업으로 자리잡고 있다.
최근 교육플랫폼 master k (비상교육)를 도입하고 어휘, 문법, 활동, 역사 등 담당 교사들의 교대 강의 방식 도입 등 개선을 거듭하고 있는 학교 측은 이번 후원금으로 학교가 도입한 시스템과 양질의 수업내용을 결합하여 재학생들에게는 최상의 교육 경험을 제공하는데 더욱 힘을 쏟게 되었다고 언급했다.
신학년도에 17명의 직원자녀들의 학비를 전액지원하고 있는 유니카의 신종민 법인장은 "이번 기부를 통해 학교가 지속적으로 발전하고 변화하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있어 기쁘게 생각한다. 한국학교를 통해 직원 자녀들이 모국의 언어와 뿌리 문화를 잊지 않고, 한인으로서의 자긍심을 가지고 미국 사회에서 잘 적응할 수 있기를 바란다"고 덧붙였다.
학교와 유니카는 지역 사회에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 협력을 지속할 것을 약속하며, 남부뉴저지통합한국학교의 변화와 성장을 기대하고 있다.
The Korean School of Southern New Jersey, also known as KSSNJ, Accelerates Educational Innovation through Significant Sponsorship at a Critical Time
As September marks the beginning of the new academic year, the Korean School of Southern New Jersey (led by Principal Chungsook Kim) has received substantial sponsorship for educational innovation from UNIKA INC. (represented by CEO Jongmin Shin), with whom they entered into an MOU agreement in May. UNIKA INC., the U.S. subsidiary of (주)UNI:ON, a Korean shipbuilding company under the leadership of President Jinkyu Park, has established itself as a successful Korean enterprise by participating in the National Security Multi-Mission Vessels project under construction at Philly Shipyard.
Recently, the school has been actively pursuing educational innovation by introducing the educational platform "master k" (Visang Education) and adopting a teaching approach where teachers take turns specializing in vocabulary, grammar, activities, and history. The school mentioned that with this latest sponsorship, they are further empowered to combine the introduced systems and high-quality course content to offer the best educational experience to their students.
Jongmin Shin, CEO of UNIKA, who fully supports the tuition fees for 17 children of employees in the new academic year, expressed, "I am delighted that this contribution will help the school continue to develop and adapt. Through Korean schools, I hope that the children of our employees will not forget their mother tongue and cultural roots, fostering pride as Korean Americans and ensuring their smooth integration into American society."
