• 새해 복 많이 받으세요. 이번 토요일은 우리 민족 최대의 고유명절 “설날”입니다. 이 날 본교 프리케이 와 킨더가든 반에서는 세배하는 법을 배우고 설에 먹는 만두를 만들어 먹을 예정입니다.

• 2024년 재미한국학교 한국어 능숙도 평가 시험: 한국학교 학생들의 실질적인 한국어 능숙도를 평가하기 위해 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기/말하기로 나누어 5학년에서 12학년 중 대상자를 선발하여 3월 23일 (토) 치룰 예정입니다. 수험생 모두가 동시에 온라인으로 실시할 예정이며 총 소요시간은 110분입니다. 모든 수험생은 컴퓨터와 헤드폰 지참이 필수입니다.

• 오는 3월 10일에는 동중부협의회 후원의 밤 갈라 행사를 개최합니다. 본교 학부모님 및 가족은 갈라티켓 50%를 학교에서 지원해드릴예정입니다. 신청서를 작성해 주시기 바랍니다. (2월 24일 마감) 바쁘신 가운데서도 참여해 주시어 뜻있는 행사를 더욱 빛내 주시길 부탁드립니다. 본교 예술단 학생들도 이 행사에 참여합니다. https://forms.gle/7r8VT3WNq7Gr7RDv5

• 2학기 마지막 날인 5월 18일에는 모든 학생이 참여하는 졸업식 및 문화예술제 "한인의 얼"이 로완대학교 플리거 콘서트 홀에서 개최될 예정입니다. 많은 성원 바랍니다.

Dear Parents 

• Happy New Year. This Saturday marks our nation's most significant traditional holiday, 'Seollal.' On this day, the pre-K and kindergarten classes at our school will learn how to bow and make and eat dumplings, a traditional food for Seollal.

• Additionally, the 2024 National Korean School Korean Proficiency Assessment Test will take place on March 23 (Saturday) for target students in grades 5 through 12. The test includes listening, reading, and writing/speaking sections, and students are required to participate online with a computer and headphones, with a total duration of 110 minutes.

• On March 10th, the NAKS-MAC will host the Gala event. The school will provide a 50% discount on gala tickets for parents and families. We sincerely invite you to participate in this meaningful occasion and enhance its significance with your presence, despite your busy schedules. • On the last day of the second semester, May 18, the KSSNJ graduation ceremony and cultural arts festival called "Korean Spirit" will be held at the Rowan University Pfleeger Concert Hall, with the participation of all students. We hope for your full support.

본교는 비상교육과 계약을 맺고 교육 포털 master k를 구축했습니다. 학교 홈페이지 kssnj.net에서 상단의 KSSNJ Portal 메뉴를 선택하면 master k에 접속이 가능합니다. 재학생들이 포털을 통해 예습과 복습을 잘 해서 한국어 수업의 효과가 극대화 되도록 가정에서 지원해 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 작년 10월 초에 각자의 포털 아이디와 패스워드를 개인 이메일 주소로 발송했습니다. 받지 못한 경우 info@kssnj.net으로 문의해 주시기 바랍니다.

KSSNJ has established an educational portal master k. When you select the 'KSSNJ Portal' option at the top of the school website, kssnj.net, you can access master k. We encourage students to utilize the portal for effective preparation and review, maximizing the impact of Korean language classes. In early October 2023, individual portal IDs and passwords were sent to your personal email addresses. If you haven't received yours, please contact us at info@kssnj.net for assistance.

자원봉사활동 KSSNJ Volunteer

본교 재학생들은 학교 관련 자원봉사를 할 때마다 아래의 봉사시간입력신청서를 작성해 주시기 바랍니다. 2023년 6월부터 2024년 5월까지의 자원봉사 시간을 합산하여 미합중국대통령자원봉사상 및 재미한국학교협의회 차세대리더상을 시상합니다. 본교 재학생이 학교 외 기관에서 봉사한 경우는 해당 기관의 확인서를 첨부하여 제출하면 본교에서 합산하여 시상합니다.

We kindly request that all current students of our school fill out the volunteer service hour submission form below each time they engage in school-related volunteer activities. We will aggregate the volunteer hours from June 2023 to May 2024 and award the US Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the National Association for Korean Schools (NAKS) Next Generation Leader Award. If a current student has volunteered at organizations outside of our school, please attach the confirmation certificate from that organization, and we will include those hours in our calculations for the awards as well.

• There are two performances scheduled on February 10th (Saturday) at the Newark Museum of Arts (NJ) and Upper Dublin High School (PA), and students will travel by school bus. Please board the bus at 12 o'clock at the school.

KSSNJ K-Percussion Company

• 사물놀이: Newark Museum of Arts 에 자차로 이동합니다. 12시에 출발해 주시기 바랍니다. (공연자: 이춘승, 윤도영, 윤도웅, 이예준, 이성준, 이유나, 최지성)
• 11시 수업은 모듬북과 사물놀이를 함께 배우고 있습니다. 모듬북 학생은 사물놀이 북채를 구입해 주시기 바랍니다. 장구반 학생은 장구채 세트를 구입해 주시기 바랍니다. (관련링크: https://kssnj.net/board_AmnO80/40829)
• 사물놀이 공연을 희망하는 학생은 연주복 장기대여 신청을 해 주시기 바랍니다. (예술단 활동을 중단하거나 졸업 시 학교에 연주복은 반납합니다)
• 모듬북 공연을 희망하는 학생 중 연주복 없는 학생 대상으로 장기대여 관련하여 2월 중으로 공지가 나갈 예정입니다.
• 기초반 학생들과 연주복이 없는 학생들의 경우 5월 18일 문화예술제 공연 시 흰 티셔츠와 청바지를 입을 예정입니다.
• 하기 영상은 사물놀이 수업 내용입니다. 외워야 할 대사를 각 가정에서 도와주시면 감사하겠습니다.

• Samulnori: Please depart at 12 o'clock for the performance at the Newark Museum of Arts. Participants take their parents' cars.
• The 11:00 class is learning Modeumbuk and Samulnori together. Modeumbuk students, please purchase a Samulnori drumstick. Janggu class students, please purchase a Janggu stick set. (Related link: https://kssnj.net/board_AmnO80/40829)
• Students wishing to participate in the Samulnori performance, please apply for a long-term rental of performance costumes. (Students should return their performance costumes to the school upon graduation or if they choose to discontinue their performance activities.)
• An announcement regarding long-term rental for students wishing to participate in the Modeumbuk performance without costumes is scheduled to be made in February.
• For basic level students and those without performance costumes, white t-shirts and blue jeans will be worn for the performance on May 18th.
• The following video contains the content of the Samulnori class. We would appreciate it if each household could assist in memorizing the script.
